Four Week Creative Writing Workshop
ORIGINS
IN TODAY’S FUTURE-FOCUSED MINDSET, IT’S SO EASY TO GET CONSUMED WITH WHERE WE ARE GOING, THAT WE FORGET WHERE WE CAME FROM!
In this workshop, we invite you to pause, close your eyes and remember the smells, sounds and sights of our childhood. Guided by American Author George Ella Lyon’s poem “Where I’m From”, we will embark on an immersive 4-week creative writing experience.
Each participant will have the chance to capture the essence of their childhood; their homes, the communities that raised them and the words they were taught to live by, through writing their very own “Where I’m From” poem. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have the chance to share their poem with the group and experience a guided debrief, led by the Group Facilitator.
Join this celebration of our collective diverse upbringings and learn to hold both the beauty and brokenness of each other’s stories.
No writing experience? No worries. The first session will be dedicated to the writing process and various templates will be provided for your reference.
Dates & Timing: TBD - We are currently in the planning phase for our next Origins Creative Workshop.
By joining the wait list, you will have the opportunity to share your preferred days and times for us to take into consideration as we set the date for our next workshop. Once it is scheduled, you will be the first to know!
We appreciate and value your input!
TYPECASTING
PERFECTION
Free WebinarSeries!
HAS YOUR VIEW OF GOD BEEN IMPACTED BY YOUR CHILDHOOD?
To ‘typecast’ someone is to “repeatedly identify them as a stereotype, an image or idea of a particular type of person”.
As children, we are designed to thrive when our primary caregivers meet our basic needs in a safe and supportive environment. When this isn't the case, the way we relate to others, including God, can be negatively impacted. Perhaps the relationship we had with our parents caused us to ‘typecast' God as angry, absent, overbearing, judgmental or ‘fill in the blank’. It could even be an exchange with a teacher or coach influenced our perception of God to be impatient, or unkind.
No matter what the case may be, we can unmask God to see His true character and know His perfect love.
Join this free interactive webinar discussion series as we will delve into different approaches to understand our view of God, including Bowlby & Ainsworth’s ‘Attachment Theory’, ‘Perception vs. Perfection’ Archetypes, Nicole Homan’s approach to discovering ‘God the Father through God the Son’ (Author of ‘To Know Him As Father’), video content and more.
